An editorial-style photoshoot celebrating Alley Theatre's Resident Acting Company (RAC) as part of the Season 80 promotional campaign — treating the company's actors not as supporting cast, but as the stars they are.
The RAC is the heart of the Alley — a resident ensemble of actors who carry productions across an entire season — but that kind of behind-the-scenes talent rarely gets a moment in the spotlight of its own. The challenge was to give these performers a "celebrity" treatment: portraits with the polish and presence of a cast photoshoot for a major campaign, shot within the footprint of a small studio.
I art directed the shoot with a clear point of view: joyful, artistic, and a little glamorous — a departure from a straightforward company headshot session. Working with 7 subjects in a compact studio space, I focused direction, lighting, and posing on making each actor feel like the lead of their own story, while keeping a consistent visual thread across all 7 so the set would read as one cohesive campaign.
